Make sure your legislators know parks are a priority!

Thank you!
Thanks to all who attended last month’s joint OurParks and Parks Now convening with Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia, and for contributing to an inspiring and invigorating conversation around parks and recreation funding and access throughout the state.

Now that our state legislators are back in Sacramento after summer recess, they will be negotiating the park, water, and housing bonds. We’re asking you to take a moment, reach out to your state representatives, and convey your support for parks and open space, and the need in your community for a park bond. Measure A took LA County in the right direction by ensuring critical funding levels remained, however further resources are needed to close the gaps identified in the comprehensive needs assessment.

You can find your legislators and their contact information here: http://findyourrep.legislature.ca.gov/.

For more information on the bond process, this recent LA Times article details where things currently stand: http://www.latimes.com/politics/la-pol-ca-housing-water-parks-loans-ballot-20170817-htmlstory.html.
